    El Chingon

Posted by Matt G on 28th May 2020

My previous single action revolver was a Ruger Vaquero in .357. After doing some research by visiting several online firearms forums dedicated to single action revolvers and cowboy action shooting, I discovered that Standard Manufacturing is considered the "Gold Standard" among Single Action Army enthusiasts. Many actually consider then to the single actions that Colt currently produces. As I do a lot of target shooting and reload, I decided to go with .38 spl as my caliber of choice due to economy of cost for reloads, and quite honestly I enjoyed the minimal recoil from shooting that caliber out of my Vaquero. I pulled the trigger and purchased the "El Chingon" model, and had it shipped to my dealer. When I got it home, I was floored. The fit, finish, and quality of the firearm is truly unsurpassed. Holding it side by side with my Vaquero, it made my Vaquero look like a crude piece of junk. Nothing against Ruger, but they are just not in the same league. Mated with my excellent El Paso Saddlery holster, it is truly a work of art. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and my revolver is truly El Chingon - the best.
