All Standard Manufacturing Co. STD-15 sporting rifles feature our exclusive STD-15 lower and upper receivers, which are entirely manufactured in-house to the most exacting tolerances and to the highest quality control levels. These Standard Manufacturing Co. STD-15 lower and upper receivers are completely manufactured in-house to the most exacting tolerances and to the highest quality control levels. The STD-15 upper and lower receivers begin with 7075T6 aluminum forgings and are machined on the very best aerospace machinery in the business. At every step of the manufacturing process each lower and upper receiver is quality checked before continuing to the next operation.  The STD-15 sporting rifles are the only AR platform sporting rifles on the market that feature our STD15 upper and lower receiver.
The lower and upper receiver begins with a 7075T6 aluminum forging and are machined on the very best aerospace machinery in the industry. At every step of the manufacturing process, each lower and upper receiver is quality checked before continuing to the next operation.
Our STD-15 lower receiver features a low shelf trigger pocket to accommodate a RDIS without the need for any further milling.
The STD-15 barrels are deep hole drilled from barrel quality steel; all other manufacturers make their AR platform sporting rifles from hammer forged barrels.  While the hammer forging process provides a denser steel barrel, unfortunately, the molecular structure of the steel has been altered.  Stress relieving the hammer forged barrels will somewhat mitigate this issue, but the consistency of the molecular structure of the steel will always be inconsistent, resulting in less than ideal accuracy through various barrel heat ranges.  Bar stock steel that is deep hole drilled then button rifled is the only way to produce a highly accurate barrel which will provide constant accuracy throughout the operating heat temperatures of the barrel.  Using deep hole drilled barstock barrels is the only method to produce barrels with consistent molecular structures.  This is the reason why all highly accurate rifles use deep hole drilled barstock barrels.
The bolt carrier group is a true M16 style configuration. Our M16 style carrier is machined from 8620 tool steel, the bolt is machined from 9130 tool steel, and the gas key is machined from 4140 steel.  The STD-15 bolt carrier groups are also manufactured in house to exacting tolerances and quality inspected through each step of the manufacturing processes.  All of the bolt carrier group components are shot peened, heat treated, magnetic particle inspected, and QPI coated as specified by the US Military Standards. This results in an incredibly smooth action and a long operational life.
